Sectarian murder spree continues : five more bodies recovered in Baghdad
In a dispatch posted at 10:20pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the puppet police had recovered five more bodies of victims of sectarian violence that had been dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Tuesday.
Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that three of the bodies were found in Baghdad’s al-Karakh district, and the other two on the ar-Rusafah side of the city.

Three employees of puppet regime killed in separate attacks in western Baghdad on tuesday
In a dispatch posted at 2pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that there had been three assassinations of puppet regime officials in three separate areas of Baghdad on Tuesday.
Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that armed men in a speeding car in the az-Za‘faraniyah section of Baghdad opened fire on Muhammad Kati‘, an officer in the puppet police who worked for the “Ministry of the Interior,” on Tuesday morning.  Kati‘ was killed on the spot.
In a second attack, armed men opened fore on the deputy director of the tax department in the west Baghdad district of al-Mansur.  The official was near his home in the Darragh neighborhood at the time of the attack, which left him dead on the spot.
The source said that a bomb exploded by the car in which the local chairman of the al-Yarmuk neighborhood of western Baghdad, Salih Mansur, was riding.  The blast killed Mansur and wounded two other civilians.

US admits death of soldier in Iraq on saturday
In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that the US military had admitted that one more American soldier had been killed in Iraq.
Yaqen reported the Pentagon as announcing that a bomb exploded by a US military vehicle on Saturday, 5 January, killing one American soldier.  It was the seventh soldier whom the US officially acknowledged as having died since the beginning of the year.

Bomb wounds 10 iraqi puppet army troops in Tikrit
In a dispatch posted at 4:45pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that a bomb exploded by a puppet army patrol on 40 Street in Tikrit, 180km north of Baghdad.
Yaqen reported Captain ‘Abd ar-Rahman ‘Ali of the Tikrit puppet police as saying that the bomb wounded 10 soldiers who were taken to Tikrit General Hospital for treatment.

Bayji refinery out of commission for "several days" due to massive fire
In a dispatch posted at 4:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that ‘Abd al-Qadir Sa‘b, the Acting General Director of the Bayji Refinery announced that the facility had stopped producing oil following a huge fire that resulted from a technical malfunction in the gas producing unit.
Yaqen reported Sa‘b as announcing that repairs and restoration of the refinery would take several days after the recovery of electrical power and the stabilization of the plant.
Sa‘b said that the malfunction occurred in parts that had been manufactured badly in 2002 by local contractors.  Those parts were not in conformity with the specifications of the Japanese-built refinery and had repeatedly caused problems over the ensuing years, problems that were solved on an ad hoc and temporary basis only.
The fire left one engineer dead and more than fifty other personnel slightly burned.  Most of the victims were taken to Tikrit Teaching Hospital or to Bayji General Hospital for treatment.
Journalists reported seeing ambulances ringing the refinery and said that at least 10 fire trucks responded to the blaze on Monday.

Attacks leave puppet "shock troop" soldier dead in al-Mada'in tuesday afternoon
In a dispatch posted on its Arabic website at 8:40pm Tuesday night Beijing time 3:40pm Baghdad time), the Xinhua News Agency reported that there had been two attacks in the area of al-Mada’in, 25km southeast of Baghdad, on Tuesday afternoon.
Xinhua reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a man wearing an explosive belt and disguised as a woman blew himself up at a checkpoint manned by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” in al-Mada’in after noon on Tuesday.
The blast killed one “Shock Troop” soldier and wounded one more.  Two civilians were also injured in the attack.  All the wounded individuals were taken to hospital for treatment.
In a second attack,  several mortar rounds blasted into residential houses in al-Mada’in after noon on Tuesday.  Two civilians were wounded and several homes were damaged in the attacks.

Ambush kills puppet policeman in al-Khalis tuesday
In a dispatch posted at 12:30pm Baghdad time Tuesday afternoon, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men attacked a puppet police patrol near al-Khalis, 57km north of Baghdad, on Tuesday morning.
Yaqen reported a source in the Diyala province puppet police as saying that the ambush left one puppet policeman dead and a member of the collaborationist committees wounded.

US forces blast areas north of al-Miqdadiya, stage airborne laudings tuesday morning
In a dispatch posted at 11:48am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Yaqen News Agency reported that US forces staged an airborne landing and surrounded the village of Hambas in the ‘Arab Jabbur area north of al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad, at dawn on Tuesday.
Yaqen reported a source in the puppet regime security forces as saying that the attack was based on the receipt of information to the effect that gunmen for al-Qa‘idah were to be found in the farming area around the village.  US forces sealed off all the roads in the area with their armored vehicles as warplanes crisscrossed the sky overhead.
Late on Monday night, US aircraft had bombed the fields and lands around the villages of al-Bazul, al-Khaylaniyah, Tawakkul, and Wulush in preparation for the US military operations against the al-Qa‘idah gunmen Tuesday.

Puppet army officer, parents shot dead in al-Huwayjah
In a dispatch posted at 9:15pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that armed men shot and killed an officer in the Iraqi puppet army along with his mother and father in the area of al-Huwayjah, about 200km north of Baghdad.
Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that armed men opened fire on the civilian car in which a man his wife and their son, a member of the puppet army were riding in the area of al-Huwayjah.  The gunfire killed all three on the spot.

Iraqi puppet army troops kill lawyer in al-Kut
In a dispatch posted at 7:45pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Yaqen News Agency reported that Iraqi puppet army forces shot and killed a lawyer near the city of al-Kut, 180km south of Baghdad, on Tuesday.
Yaqen reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a column of puppet army troops opened fire on the lawyer Ra‘d al-A‘raji when he drove his car too close to them at the northern entrance to the city on Tuesday.  The source said that the puppet troops fired wildly at al-A‘raji’s car, severely wounding him.  He later died after being transported to hospital.
